Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SmartJira Chrome extension ("Extension") provided by SmartJira ("we," "us," or "Provider"). By installing and using the Extension, you agree to these Terms.
1. License
Free Extension
SmartJira is a free, open-use Chrome extension available through the Chrome Web Store. No payment, account, or subscription is required.
License Grant
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension for personal or business purposes.
2. Extension Usage
Permitted Use
You may use the Extension to create and manage Jira tickets with AI assistance. The Extension requires your own API keys for your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) and Jira.
API Key Requirements
You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining your own API keys. You are solely responsible for any costs incurred through your use of these third-party services. SmartJira does not charge any fees.
Restrictions
You may not reverse engineer, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works of the Extension.
3. User Responsibilities
API Key Security
You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure. The Extension stores these keys locally in your browser's secure storage.
Compliance
You must comply with the terms of service of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Jira when using their APIs through our Extension.
Data Responsibility
You are responsible for any data you process through the Extension and must ensure you have appropriate permissions for any content you create or modify.
4. Privacy and Data
Our handling of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. The Extension is designed with privacy-first principles - your API keys and sensitive data remain on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
5. Updates and Support
Lifetime Updates
Updates are delivered through the Chrome Web Store at no cost.
Support
We provide email support for technical issues and general assistance. Support is provided on a best-effort basis.

Service Availability
The Extension's functionality depends on third-party services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Jira). We are not responsible for outages or issues with these external services.

The Extension is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Extension, including but not limited to data loss, system issues, or third-party service costs.
Maximum Liability
The Extension is provided free of charge and our total liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. We may discontinue the Extension with reasonable notice, but your license to use already-installed versions remains valid.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where SmartJira operates. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
